RST Direction Finding Special Interest Group (RST DF SIG)

The RST Direction Finding SIG (DF SIG)is a Special Interest Group (SIG) that provides a venue for members of RST and their friends, family, and colleagues to explore the Direction Finding (DF) aspect of Amateur Radio. In a DF “hunt”, mobile radio stations are used to hunt down and find an "offending" transmitter (the “fox”). These hunts typically last 3 to 4 hours.

The DF SIG was started in 2008. We've had as many as 10 people participating in hunts, ranging from walking hunts in a park, cross-city hunts in Tucson, and even a few cross-county hunts.

The DF SIG holds a hunt on an adhoc basis using the nationaly coordinated DF Hunt frequency of 146.565 Mhz.
